What is Model Share?
Model Share is the percentage of AI-generated answers, within a defined prompt set, in which your brand is mentioned. It is the generative-search equivalent of share of voice, measured across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Copilot.
How is Model Share measured?
MarkGrid runs your prompt set against five AI platforms on a schedule and records whether your brand appears in each answer, alongside which competitors appear. The score is the share of those answers that mention you.
Can I see why my score moved?
Yes. Every gain or loss is attributed down to the prompt and the source the model cited, so you can act on the specific page or claim that changed the answer, and alerts fire when a competitor overtakes you.
